Abstract

This study responds to a result of the research project Innovative educational practices mediated by ICT and its
impact on the quality of the teaching-learning process in educational institutions in the city of Guayaquil of the
Tecnológico Universitario Espíritu Santo. It explored how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence
(AI) and augmented reality (AR), transformed the teaching of ethical values in basic education students. The
scope of the research focuses on evaluating how these technologies can influence students' motivation and
perception regarding learning values such as kindness, respect and responsibility.
The research design is exploratory-descriptive, using qualitative and quantitative methods to collect data on
students' perception and experience with emerging technologies. The methodology included the design of
interactive educational activities based on AI and AR, adapted to integrate emotion analysis. These activities
were implemented in a controlled educational environment, where the students' emotional responses and their
level of commitment to learning values were evaluated.
The results indicated a high acceptance and positive perception of artificial intelligence and augmented reality in
learning values. The majority of students felt more motivated and engaged with the educational content showing
a significant improvement in motivation and understanding of ethical values among students. The adaptability of
tools based on generative artificial intelligence allowed for effective personalization of educational content
according to the individual and emotional needs of students.
